BJP facing a tough time in Gujarat Assembly elections, as farmers are not very happy this time. The Bharatiya Kisan Manch, a group of 13 farmers unions, will campaign against the BJP in Gujarat Assembly elections because BJP failed to honour its promise to implement the Swaminathan Commission report.
During the 2014 polls, the party had promised to implement the report but the BJP government had reneged on its election promises after accession to power. Manch president Satnam Singh Beru said, “The farmers feel cheated. We have decided to campaign against the BJP.”
All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS)affiliated to CPI also said it will roll out a strategy to “counter  the BJP” during the assembly elections in Gujarat next month after consultation with farmers in the state. “We are having a discussion with the farmers in Gujarat. There, the farmers are saying that the BJP has not done anything for them. We will decide our strategy for the elections with them,” AIKS general secretary Atul Anjan said
